SIXTY ACRES writes and performs their own songs. Main songwriter Matt Felch is a talented, insightful lyricist who writes melodies that are both gorgeous and catchy. SIXTY ACRES entered the Washington, DC music scene in April of 1997. SIXTY ACRES is currently based out of Baltimore, Maryland.
Their debut CD banjos and sunshine was the #4 selling CD at Miles of Music for 1999. Their second album good ethel was the #12 selling CD at Miles of Music for the year 2000. SIXTY ACRES has received radio airplay in the U.S.A., Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and even Canada.
On August 5, 2003 dren records released Ain’t No Grave: A Tribute To Traditional And Public Domain Songs. SIXTY ACRES contributed “Is The Battle Over?” The song features Harry Hess of The Sir Douglas Quintet on pedal steel.
On September 23, 2003 Not From Nashville Records released For Anyone That’s Listening: A Tribute To Uncle Tupelo. SIXTY ACRES contributed “Gun.”
ON JULY 5, 2005 SIXTY ACRES RE-RELEASES THEIR DEBUT ALBUM BANJOS AND SUNSHINE. THE ALBUM HAS BEEN REMASTERED AND INCLUDES SIX ADDITIONAL BONUS TRACKS.
In the fall of 2005 SIXTY ACRES plans to enter Scary Clown Studios in Bethesda, Maryland to begin recording their third full-length album.
