dren records is an independent record label based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The label started in 1997 near Baltimore, Maryland. dren later moved to Washington, DC for a few years and has been based out of Philadelphia since early 2001. Albums released on dren records have appeared in such magazines as Rolling Stone, Mojo, Uncut, Guitar World, Q Magazine, No Depression, CMJ, Goldmine, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Paste, Harp, The Big Takeover and RollingStone.com. The music has been played on many radio stations in America and overseas, including NPR. Although dren specializes in music that is somewhat related to americana, alt-country, roots rock, power pop, folk, rockabilly and country; we do accept demos from all genres of music and music video.
